About Mrs. Rachael

I am thrilled to be teaching my 6th year at Rivendell! This is my first year at Westshire and I am absolutely loving it. I taught 3/4 math and science at SME for one year. Before that I taught 5th and 6th grade math at SME. I graduated from New England College in 2012 with my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. I moved to Thetford six years ago and was fortunate to get a job working for Rivendell right away!

I grew up in Waterbury Center Vermont which is also a wonderfully small community. When I'm not teaching you can find me hiking, camping, practicing yoga, cross country skiing, kayaking, enjoying delicious food, and spending time with my husband.

About Ms. Townsend

I am so excited to be teaching for my first year at Westshire Elementary! I graduated from Northern Vermont University -- Johnson in May of 2019 with a Bachelors in Elementary Education. After graduating, I was offered a job at Westshire right away!

I grew up and am still living in Thetford, VT. I have a puppy named Rosie and a big orange cat named Oliver. When I'm not at school, I enjoy reading, hiking, snowshoeing, knitting, and being with family.
