Check out our morning messages!

Good Morning Families!

Happy first full week of remote learning! Please check your emails today. Both myself and Ms. Townsend have sent an email to all families today. I sent mine to the fourth grade families and Ms. Townsend sent hers to the 3rd grade families.

In our email we let you all know that we will be posting a morning message each week day morning on our homeroom pages (4th grade and 3rd grade). Please have your child check the blog and read their message daily!! This is something we would be each day at school. You can have your child read the message out loud to you like we would do in the classroom.

We have heard from many of you and look forward to hearing from the families that have not touched base with us yet. Stay in touch! We are here for you!

Be well,
<3 Mrs. Rachael and Ms. Townsend

Good Morning!

Good Morning 3rd and 4th Grade Families!

Mrs. Rachael and I were getting so many pictures from you that we decided to make a page on our blog just for sharing pictures of what you're doing at home! You can find out what your classmates are doing at home by clicking on "Student Connections." The most important information that parents and families will need to know about will be found on our home page.

Have a good day! Talk soon!

Love,
Ms. Townsend

Good Morning Students!

Good Morning Everyone!

Wow this weather is interesting! I was out doing yard work yesterday and today there is snow on the ground! I was very surprised when I woke up!

Happy first official day of remote learning! I hope you were all able to pick up your bags yesterday and have started to go through them with your parents. Remember to take your time going through your bags. Mrs. Townsend and I posted yesterday a video about what is in your bag and how we expect you to use it! You have two and a half weeks to complete the work and we are here to help! Send us an email or start a google doc and share it with us! Addison L. started a conversation with us on google doc! So fun! Thanks Addison!

We DO NOT expect parents to teach students. If you need help with your work, get in contact with us!

We miss you all so much! Email us pictures of what you're up to and we will post them to the blog so everyone can stay in touch!

Here is a picture of my work space. This is where I will be sending emails and staying in touch with all of you! You can see on the right side of my desk a spot for my cat :)  You can also see a whiteboard on my desk. Ready to do some video lessons!
Stay in touch!!

How to use your packet!

Hi students! Here is a video of your teachers explaining how to do school from home! We miss you all so much and can’t wait to hear from you!

Ms. Townsend and Mrs. Rachael

Dear 3rd and 4th Grade Families

Dear 3rd and 4th Grade Families,

This is a difficult time with so many changes. We want you to know that we care about your families, and we are in this together. Each family has heard or will be hearing from a point person from our school. This person will be available to listen and connect you with resources if needed. Your point person may not be able to answer all of your questions, but they will be sure to connect you with others who will.

Over this period of time, Mrs. Rachael and I will be reaching out mostly via classroom blogs and through email. You can rely on hearing from both of us on a weekly basis through these methods of communication. Please make sure you are regularly checking your email and the blog site. I would recommend bookmarking this page for easy access in the future. I would also recommend subscribing to the blog so that you know when new items are posted. Our office hours are weekdays from 8am – 10am. During these hours you can expect a response from teachers. If you reach out to your teacher outside of these hours, you can expect a response within the next 24 hours. If you need immediate assistance, please reach out to us via phone.

Today, your child is receiving their packet for remote learning. Mrs. Rachael and I have posted a video on the blog about how to navigate your packet over this next period of time. You can also find a list of educational resources that are available for free on the blog. If you have not signed your student up for at home access to Epic, I would encourage you to do so. You should have received an email from Epic with an invitation to get free at home access. If you did not, let Ms. Townsend know.

All students are encouraged to keep in touch with their teachers through email, sharing Google Documents, and by writing handwritten letters and mailing them to the school. We miss all of you, and we are looking forward to hearing from you soon!

Best,
Ms. Townsend and Mrs. Rachael

February 13th, 2020

The 3rd and 4th grade will be celebrating Valentine's Day tomorrow! It is optional for students to bring in valentines, but if they do, please make sure they bring a valentine for everyone in their class. We will be celebrating with food after the valentines are distributed. Students can bring in food to share if they would like to, but it is not required!

We hope that everyone has a happy and restful break! Remember to get outside!

Best,
Ms. Townsend and Mrs. Rachael

Tomorrow is the 100th day of school! If you would like to send your child in with a snack to celebrate please feel free to do so!

On Thursday we will have 3/4 team time. Weather dependent, we will be outside! Please make sure your child has boots, snow pants, jacket, gloves/mittens, and a hat!

Many students have been very sick lately. Just a friendly reminder to please keep your child at home if they have a fever! Thanks so much!

Best,
Mrs. Rachael and Ms. Townsend
